The Pediatric Cardiac Surgery Inquest Report

Consent

There are signed forms on the medical chart indicating that Emalee Ulimaumi gave her written consent to the admission of her daughter to the HSC and to her operation on the morning of March 24, 1994. There is also information on the file that an Inuk interpreter assisted Emalee Ulimaumi in understanding what was going on.

The Ulimaumi family did not participate in the Inquest proceedings. Therefore there is no information available from their perspective as to what they were told before signing the consent forms on the medical chart.
